Gary will be joining the residency for the first 3 weeks until the beginning of January and he will be involved in teaching and running workshops with Ismini at the Textile College and will work with the Design Technology Centre on furniture and design consultancy.
Gary is a product designer and lecturer working primarily in wood.
With studies at Wimbledon school of Art and the Royal College of Art, Gary has worked freelance for a number of consultancies including Ratho Design Associates, the Conran Shop and Habitat. He also assisted Anthony Gormley in the making of the Angel of the North. Gary is now focusing on designing and making using timber and is a visiting lecturer at University College Falmouth on the BA course 3D Design for Sustainability.
His hand turned wooden bowls and plates are exhibited and sold nationally and internationally.
