Tangail break

A brief visit a few weeks ago to Tangail a weaving area north west of Dhaka, to see the seed preservation centre at Ubinig, and to see some of the textile making was so fascinating I decided to come back for 4 days of country living.

I stayed at the Ubinig guesthouse and was very well taken care of, fed and taught some Bangla by the Tangail Ubinig team, most notably the manager Mr Chunnu, Joakim, Liza and Jonra. The food was delicious local recipes made with organic ingredients. The centre embraces an authentic way of life where nature lies at the centre of attention. In the quiet and peaceful environment, free from traffic noise and cohorts I could see beauty everywhere, in the shadows, patterns, textures and colours.
